Card Notification for wrong branch

I originally asked Standard Bank to deliver my new cheque card to Preller Square branch in Bloemfontein. I received an SMS from the Brandwag branch that my card was at the Brandwag branch. On going to the Brandwag branch, i was told that the card had been sent to the Preller Square branch and would not be there until Friday 17/05. 2 problems - why did the Brandwag branch send me an SMS when the card was forwarded to the requested branch and secondly, why does it take 3 days when the branches are 10km apart. I have wasted an afternoon going to the Brandwag branch.
