Absa nightmare

Hello Peter,

I am a South African, living in Germany since March 2012. I left my Absa account open for business and personal transfers, obviously I am relying on internet banking to accommodate me with these actions. I phoned Absa last year in June, Absa helpline for info about my account and was helped by a lady at the Menlyn branch who informed me about Fica. Since I am abroad and can't walk in the nearest Absa branch to present myself, I was informed by the lady to scan and mail proof of adress and ID which I did. I never heard of her again and to my suprise, my account was blocked (ERROR 495P) in March this year. I am dealing now with 3 Absa branches to sort this out, sent and scanned Id's, mails, Residential Oaths, Affidavids, Notarised letters, more than 20 phone calls from Germany, and original documents were handed in by my daughter at the Menlyn branch, but no success. The same lady suggested that my mother who is still in SA, must sign a document at the Absa where she resides, Absa Klerskdorp branch, which she did, it's been two weeks and my account is still blocked.
I am disgusted with Absa and this Fica. They don't cater for clients abroad. I need help asap
