I have been fighting for over a year to cancel a debit order on my account for a credit card payment that was supposedly handed over. It got so bad that I made sure that there was no money in the account for the last 6 months so that the debit order would bounce - I was making a point about the fact that I don't want ANY debit orders and that I have my own business i.e. no salary on the 25th of every month..a costly point to make...
On the very day that I arranged to make a payment with the attorneys (satisfied that the debit order was FINALLY cancelled), the entire balance of R30, 471.50 was taken out of my checking account - leaving me in my overdraft and unable to continue with my business.
I have contacted Card Legal for 2 days now and nothing has happened... nobody has responded. I have been promised that I will be contacted by the close of business and NOTHING.
HOW do they get away with this? I have been trying to get hold of the ombudsman for months but they will do nothing without a reference from Nedbank. Do you think I can get a reference number out of them??? The system works beautifully for them.
I am a documentary filmmaker... and I have just discovered my next topic
