I am having a nightmare in buying a property through Standard Bank and I am about to lose this opportunity due to unbelievable errors from the bank and their chosen suppliers. At first the bank made an error with the address of the property I applied to purchase. I want to purchase the property next door and the bank informed me that I already owned it. The funny thing is the property is bonded through the bank. I had to prove that the property that I owned was the one I was occupying for the last ten years. This took months to resolve. Just when I thought all was well, the lawyers Hannes Gouws & Partners want a utility bill on a newly formed company, which, does not exist. The bank then informed me that this was sorted and I had to sign a document and produce the utility bill on my existing address, which I did. I received the same feedback after handing these documents to the lawyer. I have once again escalated this to the bank but with all large institutions they have no client care.
