Absa
ABSA Idirect Insurance

I had the car behind me's brakes fail and the rear ended me while stationery at the traffic lights.

While waiting for the police to arrive I telephonic-ally reported the accident. I have significant damage to the rear of the car as the boot and side panels have been pushed in. The one rear door can not be opened and the boot no longer closes.

I asked at 10am what I needed to get the car accessed. When I called at 13:00 to follow up on the process I am told it will take 48 hours for an accessor to be assigned. This takes it through till Friday afternoon to make an appointment, which I find un-acceptable considering the damage to the vehicle.

The only question Gladys had was if the car was drive able. There is no way this can be escalated and I was merely offered the option of laying a complaint.

I have offered to take my car to an assessment centre (which I have done with previous insurers) but this is not an option with ABSA.

I have been insured for more than 20 years and this has been my worst insurance claim experience.
