Second thoughts about First National Bank

On 2May I made a reservation at a hotel in Amsterdam understanding there is no booking fee& that I have the option of free cancellation two days prior. I entered my FNB cheque card details to make the reservation. Minutes later the FNB centre called to inquire whether the transaction was legit or not. (I then realised that the hotel was charging me for the reservation!) The FNB voice prompt instructs to press 1 if you are happy with the transaction and 2 if you are not happy/unsure about the transaction. I replied by entering 2. In doing so I would think that any transaction should be stopped/ reversed immediately. I was directed to a FNB rep that put me through to Disputes dept. where I was put on hold for infinity. Next day I went to FNB Brooklyn& lodged my dispute via fax& e-mail. I called all Customer care lines& I was put on hold permanently. After 6 days without feedback from FNB regarding the transaction that I had tried to stop R13 175.42 was deducted from my FNB account. I'm disgusted in the way FNB handle these affairs and this experience has to be shared with the public so that they will have Second thoughts before opening a First National Bank account. Barry
