Ive been banking with Absa since ive been 13 years. Ive financed 3 vehicles through them. I have a credit card with a R55k limit. Today i applied for finance on a vehicle im interested in purchasing. They offered me an interest rate of 11% and after me rejecting this, they offered me a rate of 9, 5%. Three years ago I applied for finance and they offered me prime -0, 5%, but now they only offer 9, 5%. MFC, with whom ive never dealt with in my life, offered me prime. I find this unacceptable, as I have always been a loyal client to ABSA and expected some loyalty in return. I would have preferred to do business with Absa, but it seems im gonna have to go to MFC. Maybe its time to switch banks.
