Due to poor service issues, I called Amex on the 26th to close my account after over 20 years. I was under the impression from what was said that the account was closed but that someone would call to ask to what charity I wanted to donate my excess rewards. I was called on the 6th MAy 7 days later to be told they were calling to close the account.
This was after I took the trouble to call twice, verify my details twice and spent over 20 minutes on the phone only to be told on the 6th that they wanted to close the account but wanted to verify who I was before they could proceed.
I did everything I needed to do to close the account by phoning and spending the time on the phone, what is this calling back 7 days later and having to now waste my time verifying me etc. All I want is the account closed not the next level of bad service from Nedbank
