I closed my Savvy cheque account as well as my savings account a couple of YEARS ago due to various issues with Nedbank. After all this time, I started receiving SMS's saying that my account is over drawn and I need to rectify it so not to risk my financial well being. Unbeknown to me, Nedbank never closed the savings account and has since been charging me fee's on the account. When I called the call centre to query I was told I had to pay the account up and go back to the branch to close it AGAIN! I refused because I did this years ago and I would not be inconvenienced by them again. I was then told that it would be handed over to the relevant dept. to close the account but still NOTHING has been done. After calling again today, I had to explain to 3 people what had happened and I was told that I had to provide a ref no. for the call I had with the guy who would hand it over in order for them to hear that recording or they could do nothing to rectify this. When I provided the ref no. I was told that they could not access that record!?!?! The account is still open and I am yet to receive a positive response from Nedbank. I'm disgusted.
