I have been insured (householders) for more than 10 years with Hollard and if my memory serves me correctly, have only made one claim to change locks after a housebreaking.
A couple of weeks ago, a friend and myself were hijacked by an armed gang on my driveway. I lost what I was carrying (watch, wallet, glasses, cell phone, etc.), to the value of about R30k. A slight technicality, in that the point of hijacking was all of two meters outside of the boundary of my property, means that they will only cover me for the all risk items - a whopping R2, 500 less an excess, I'm sure. I guess customer satisfaction and loyalty are not key performance criteria in their books.
