Products that scans R0.01 - To be sold to customers

On 12 July 2024 at Clicks Mayfield Square, I was attempting to purchase an OSH BS Duo Gift Set. It scanned at R0.01, although I found it on the clearance table marked down to R25 from R85. The cashier told me that they were not selling it but did not explain why. I felt that this was unfair as I wanted to buy that item because I needed it.

If items scanning at R0.01 are not for sale, then they should be removed from the shelves before customers stand in long queues only to be told that products cannot be sold.

If a product scans at R0.01, I believe I should be able to pay the price it scans at. I am really disappointed and feel something must be done about this rule.

A response will be highly appreciated.
