Being handed over for a closed account

In December 2010 I settled my Woolworths account with an outstanding amount of R990 and some odd cents and requested for the account to be closed. The Woolworths representative confirmed that my account is closed.

I received a call on 12 May 2013 from a collections agency NBA (contact person Bulelwa 021 003 0228) who advise me that I am being handed over for owing R800 and some odd Rand on my W account.

Imagine my surprise that 1. I knew that I closed my acc 2. No one ever communicated with me since I "closed" my acc in Dec 2010. Bulelwa advised me to take the matter up with W.

On 13 May 2013 I first spoke to Pumza at W at 09:05 who referred me to another department. I then spoke to Monica Bawuti and had to explain situation again. She then advised that her Manager will investigate and revert to me.

Its been 3 weeks and no one from Woolworths contacted me. I tried calling the number Monica gave me (021) 411 5423 and no one answered. I called NBA again to update them on my attempt whn Rodia confirmed they received a doc on 27 May from W confirming an error from them and that my account is indeed closed. I am furious at W for not calling me & giving me sleepless nights.
