I had an accident on the 5th May 2013, today its the 17th October, almost six months later i still have to drive my car. The car was took in to DME to repair. at first they advised that the was an issue with the parts as ford does not have the parts and had to wait to be imported from overseas, however:
After waiting for 5 months and two weeks, driving the car for only a week; the car was collected on the 1st October from my home with a promise that everything will be sorted within a day. Today; two and a half weeks later, and three trips to DME; I am still without a car. I lost faith in DME:
1. Considering the three long trips I had taken, about 100km per trip (after being told that the car is ready when it was not),
2. the 6 months wait,
3. the empty promises of the time frame to get the car ready,
4. inability to repair the car satisfactorily,
5. The I do not care attitude from the staff
I lost faith and definitely do not have the patience anymore, it will take them another three months to sort out the issues.
I would not advise anyone to take the car there, and if by any chance it is there already, move it to another place with a good reputation and avoid the frustration.
