I was called by MBD attorneys last year to inform me that Virgin Active had handed me over to them. I asked them how I needed to pay and they gave me a figure of almost R960 (not sure of the exact amount), I then made an arrangement to pay that over 3 months. I paid R300 over two months and made the final payment of R360 in November 2012. I received a call from MBD about a month ago telling me that I still owe them an amount of /-R300. I told the lady that had called me that I finished paying the account in November last year and that I was told that I had to pay R960 and where's the new amount coming from? I asked her to go and listen to the recorded phone calls that I'd had and come back to me. She told me that I had to call and speak to the supervisor but that the supervisor was not available at that time.
To my surprise, today I received an SMS from MBD to inform me that a section 129 legal notice has been sent on my Virgin Active account. I don't have a problem paying the amount. The only problem I have is principle, you cannot tell me I owe an X amount and when I settle that amount you tell me I owe more. Can this matter be investigated please?
