My 6 year old Grandson was booked to fly from Cpt Int to OR Tambo on 4 April at 12:00. We checked him in at 10:30 and told to wait in a room where he would be collected at 11:15 and taken by an attendant to board the plane.By 11:45 after asking at least 5 different personnel who said they would enquire but just disappeared, I found an attendant who was clearly concerned as the boarding gate was due to close. He made a call and someone came running to collect the child, who was told to run as the plane was ready to leave. His bag was left on the scanner and an attendant had to run after him. I was not satisfied that he had actually boarded and asked to see the person in charge of checking the boarding passes, she assured me he had boarded. I insisted on seeing the SAA Manager-Edward Mtuyedwa who said he would investigate and get back to me as this was not how they handled unaccompanied minors. I don't expect to hear from him and as SAA don't respond to Hello Peter, I just want others to know that SAA are not to be trusted with minors. When the plane landed he was left sitting without knowing what to do and said he felt very scared, until a hostess collected him.
