24 HR DELAY AND LOST LUGGAGE

On the 10th of january 2013 my wife and i were so excited to finaly get on a plane and go on an overseas holiday
It did not start well as our flight was delayed for 24hrs. This meant that the only day my wife and i could spend free time in Las Vegas, would not happen, as the rest of the time in Vegas I was involved with a company conference from early morning till late evening. The connecting flight from New York to Las Vegas which we booked with another airline, the money we payed for this was lost, and at the airport i was told that BA was not responsible for this loss.

Upon reaching our re routed destinationmy wifes luggage was missing. This we only received 5 days later. I must add that i received a mail from BA Customer Relations 2 days after wereceived the luggage stating that BA will have our luggage in due course. This all started due to the lady at OR TAMBO that checked in our luggage managed to send the one piece of luggage to London Heathrow, then Las Vegas and again Las Vegas.

I now have to send claims to the USA via fax to United as BA has said that United was the final carrier and they are responsible.

Not one positive reply from BA at any stage, pathetic.
