Passenger HAL van den Heever departed from Or Tambo via Heathrow to Dallas Fort Worth 10January, arrived in Dallas on flight BA193 on Friday 11 January, but his luggage was missing. Ref DFWBA45421 was given when the lost luggage was reported. According to Menzies in South Africa this call was closed and the luggage recovered but not delivered as they could nog get hold of passenger. On Friday 18 January mr van den Heever went to the airport- wich is a 2 hour drive from the ranch he is on - just to find no trace of the luggage. I called Menzies again and Lebo informed me that the call was closed in error and they were still searching for the bags. A New ref nr DFWBA 45440 was given. This must be addressed urgently as Mr van den Heever is in the USA without clothes. As you know it is summer in South Africa and Winter in Texas, which creates a problem regarding his clothes. I need to know when this will be solved, as he now has to use his pocket money to purches warm clothes. Will British Airways compensate him for the inconvenience and unnecessary cost incurred.
