The weekend of 9 / 10 March is one of the highlights of the cycling calendar - The Pick 'n Pay Argus Cycle Tour.
Obviously due to the high number of cyclists _35000 that attend the weekend, and possibly due to being closer to the weekend, the airfares are ridiculously expensive.
So in order to reduce the cost implication, travel dates where booked from Wednesday to Wednesday and for two passengers the return price was quoted and accepted at -R2600.
Today, more than 3 weeks after booking and paying, with nearly 3 weeks to go before departure an email is sent by kulula to inform that an additional R1200 is required to get the bikes to and from Cape Town.
Historically, (this is my 5th trip to the Argus) we have never had to pay any additional fee and more over this was never communicated before or during the booking process.
This is very disappointing, and is cause for me to potentially cancel the trip and forfeit the race and other plans ad expenses incurred.
