There is one South African parastatal who seem to never be far from publicity, usually bad, and today was the final straw.. I have had numerous problems in the past with SAA, luggage, late arrivals, uncaring staff... and I no longer use them...
However today they excelled... Cal was booked to go to the USA, for a job which he had been accepted to and was going for training, and his first flight was, yup, SAA, .. they arrived late and as a result he missed his connecting flight... no bad weather, just bad planning.. so now he is stuck in a West African country and nobody is taking responsibility...
We call SAA customer services to see what can possibly be done... what a joke... a supposedly international airline, catering to passengers and visitors from around the world... surely an understanding of, and an ability to speak, a passable English is a basic requirement. I have heard bedouins in the deepest Sahara speak better English, and show more care than we got today...
I, and it is only my opinion, will never use, or recommend SAA to anybody local or foreign again... they are just not interested!!!
