I wish to make known a disastrous experience with the above mentioned travel agency.
Air-tickets to the value of R32000 were paid for, but they were booked in the 'wrong name' or in the name not matching the passport. When this blunder was reported to the regional manager, she immediately said that the agent involved should not have allowed the transaction to have taken place without the passport in front of her. She also said the agent was new on the job and has been disciplined!!
A couple of days later I was told by the agent that the ticket would not work unless we renewed his expired SA passport. However, when I queried this with the US Embassy and his university, they immediately said that if he had not returned to US with his Portuguese passport that contained his visas, that he would have been deported from the US and lost his tennis scholarship.
Because we have received advice or counsel from the bottom drawer, my son now sits at his university for Christmas emotionally distraught, trying to find a place to stay. This service provider did not provide the service that she led us to believe was on the table.
We want a full refund for non-delivery of service.
