Great Check in experience

I arrived at the airport at 06:35 for a 07:25 flight. Unfortunately I was not aware that my ticket was cancelled. However, Sielo took the time to establish that the ticket was indeed cancelled. Notwithstanding this, he booked me in, and asked me to phone my agent for a new ticket number. In view of the network congestion, the ticket was booked for a later flight. NO PROBLEM, said Sielo with a smile: "I will get my supervisor to override". After that was done, he phoned the gate to advise them that i will be along shortly, even though the gate close time has passed.

This kind of helpfulness and efficiency needs to be acknowledged, and i am ever so grateful, as i was able to get to my Cape Town appointment on time.

This must be seen in context, after I had sworn off flying with SAA a few years back, when a similar experience left a bad impression on me.
