I booked a flight for my son Babapelumi Adejuyigbe to travel from Durban to Johannesburg on Friday 20/09/2013. The booking reference was LCZTLY. Unfortunately the travel plans changed and i contacted Mango call centre on Thursday prior to travel to notify them of change. I did not have a new date of travel because my son was not with me. I explained to them that he is in boarding school and i needed to get a new date from him. On 27/09/2013 i sent an e-mail requesting the ticket to be used at end of term in December but was informed by Cinzia Sebatian that the ticket was forfeited and non-refundable. That is unacceptable to me especially because i phoned on Thursday to request a change to the ticket almost 24 hours before proposed travel. Why should the ticket be forfeited? I can understand it if i am penalised (like other airlines do) but to forfeit R1000 is really not acceptable. Is this a ploy to commandeer my money?
I sent another e-mail to try and resolve the matter but they have arrogantly ignored my e-mail. I just cannot understand it.
