If the change does not go through you lose the lot

Dear Sir,
Is my understanding of your policy correct.
If I purchase a ticket for say R3000 Jhb to Cape Town and then make a telephonic flight date change your policy is that if the transaction does not go through that very second (ie insufficient funds) the ticket is immediately voided and I therefore lose the ENTIRE value of the ticket.
Please don't now mention that the fact is explained to me on the phone and that is the excuse you intend to hide behind. Are really telling me that you are not prepared to allow 24 hours to get the credit card in order and then complete the transaction. Further why cannot the procedure merely be cancelled as if nothing had happened.
