What a deja vu. Dealt with the same people at Greenstone Flight Centre. Confirmed a package based on a quote received on 19 July. Was called on the 22nd by Michelle to pay for the booking. Paid on the afternoon of the 22nd, and was called whilst shopping 15 minutes later to be told by Carina that the prices had gone up and more money is owed. Went to the office and was told by both Michelle and Carina that the tour operator had put the prices up between Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon. Agreed to pay the difference if it was legit, to make sure they were not out of pocket. Convinced by Michelle that it was not their error I agreed to pay the difference. Here comes the clanger: I contacted the tour operator who informed me that the prices had gone up and that they had notified FC of this even BEFORE the 19th when I received my quote. They also informed me that FC only paid them on 25th which was why I had not received documentation. Funding FC should not be my problem. Bianca kindly sent me a mail saying Michelle says she will refund the money (woohoo) and 'apologies for the inconvenience - or something insincere like that. I will NEVER use FC again if this is how they do it.
