Translux/City To City
Never felt so disrespected in my life

I was taking a 22:00 bus from Durban to Pretoria on 1st of July 2013. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. I don't want to I was a bit tipsy and the hostess (I think) saw me while I was getting into the bus. She started shouting at me asking me if I was drunk and I politely said I had a few drinks. She then called the driver and started pointing at me saying "mbuke udakiwe" (look at her she's drunk). And she wanted to chase me out of the bus telling me that they don't take drunks in the bus. All this time they are shouting at me and everybody in the bus is looking at me. I was so embarrassed. Why didn't they call me on the side and ask me all these questions? Why did they call me out in front of the whole bus? I stood there, kept quite while they debated whether they should let me in or not. Then the hostess rudely said go in and stay in your sit and don't be a nuisance. I went to my seat quietly and slept the whole journey.

I thought I would let this go but it's been bothering me for weeks now. The way they were so rude. I really felt small and embarrased. I will never use their bus services again. Black people really don't have customer service, I'm sorry.
