Me and my husband flew to Australia to visit our daughter. During our visit there my husband passed away in Feb 2011. I enquired about a refund and was told it would be refunded into the credit card used to make the payment. After providing the required information I was then told that now it would only be paid to the attorneys after receiving a letter from the Executors of his estate. After once again providing all the required information, the payment has still not been received-it has been 2 years and 3 months.
Nobody seems to want to take responsibility for sorting out the mess or SAA is just hoping that by ignoring the request and wasting time I will decide to rather forget about it?
The money I have spent phoning from Australia to SAA in SA could probably have paid for the ticket in any case (I live in Australia now).
I am very disappointed in the service from SAA. I still have emails from them stating they will refund the money, but that is yet to happen. Every contact brings a new change or excuse as to why it hasn't been paid-after sending all the required documents numerous times!
Visiting South Africa I will not be flying "Proudly South African" again...
