Booked in livestock turned away at the counte

I made a booking on SAA to currier live fish from Cape Town to Bloemfontein.
Booking number given ccascrtcptbfm311 to me.
Departing C.T at 14:20
on SA 1089
and arriving at 16:05

I sent our driver, only for him to call me (on his own cell) a hour later and tell me the flight was cancelled.
When I made my booking they took my name and cell number, nobody bothered to call me.
We had to make a decision to leave the fish there until the next available flight, but this could cause stress as the temperature drops and the CO2 build up in the bag.
if the fish arrive alive on the other side, there is now a greater chance that there will be a decease breakout on the fish.

I feel that when I made a booking and the flight was cancelled, all the people who made a booking should have been called straight away and been notified so that we / they could have packed and left for the airport at the appropriate time.

I will use them again, but there procedures should be Looked at.
