Background:
- I upgraded / changes my account at the OR Tambo branch. The 'upgrade' occurred however the contract type was not changed. I was charged an upgrade fee and paid the old subscription rate for an additional month.
- I logged a complaint on here after not getting anywhere with the normal contact routes. I'm in London and am unable to visit an MTN store to sort out MTNs issues.
- My contract has now been changed to reflect the contract that I wanted - a R50 SIM only plan.
New issues:
- MTN has charged me a second upgrade fee to correct their mistake.
- MTN has not refunded the overcharge from continuing the incorrect contract for an additional month.
- The contract type is now correct - R50 anytime - however the fee rate is still not what I signed for in store, which was a discounted rate as the contract is SIM only.
- The only contact I've had from MTN is an email admitting the error. Not once have I received a phonecall from someone who can sort out the issue.
It seems the only way to get a response from MTN is to post reports on Hello Peter, as the queries on MTN Active are not replied to and phoning MTN is a joke and a waste of time.
Very unhappy customer here.
