Virgin Mobile South Africa
Early Contract Cancellation

I have been a VMSA customer for about 4 years, and have 3 lines with them, one of which I have never been able to activate. One of my contracts expires in mid July, and I would like to buy out the contract early, and pay off the handset and switch to another SP. HOWEVER, VMSA want to charge me the remaining R750 for the handset, as well as bill me the full amount of my contract until the 1st of July.
Sorry? As many times as the operator explained it to me I still do not understand the reasoning behind this. I may as well wait until July when my contract expires, and save myself R750. I understand that I need to give a calendar months notice of contract cancellation, which takes us to the 1st of June, why do I need to still pay in July, if I am buying out of the contract? The number will deactivate on the 16th of May!
I would like to add that I was a perfectly happy customer of VMSA until the last year when I got tired of signal problems almost everywhere I go, and as mentioned above, have never been able to activate one of my lines, and it burns me that I still have 2 years to pay on that contract.
I used to be a vocal supporter of VMSA, but now I tell people to stay away.
