Double billing after a trail of poor service

After having applied for an ADSL line in August 2012, and having the order confirmed I was told in mid September (having already moved into the new premises) the infrastructure did not exist in my area.
I accepted an FWT service as an interim solution.
Eventually I was temporarily connected in February and after reporting a fault was re-connected almost 2 weeks later.
I have paid my account timeously and on receiving a ludicrous "pro rata" bill last month I paid an above average monthly amount. Today I received an sms informing me my account is in arrears and I'm about to have the service suspended - the pro rata account charges me for amounts already billed and paid.
I have spent hundreds of Rands in time and cell phone fees to try and rectify the problem and have been told I must again visit a Telkom store to sort out the problem.
Last time I did that I was shown the free call phone and advised to call 10210... From the comfort of my home I phoned 10210 this morning and was told to visit my Telkom store...
I feel doubly aggrieved as I have been a Telkom customer since the early 1980s, feeling somehow "patriotic" and supportive of my national "provider".
