Moved from contract to Pay as you Go at the end of March.
Not familiar with the process, I bought airtime & converted a portion to data by following the instructions of the Call Centre operator & on device prompts.
I used R150 of the airtime to purchase 500Mb of data, great.
Yesterday I received an SMS saying that I had 1.2Gig of data expiring at the end of April.
Confused I phoned Vodacom, who could not give me an answer.
During this query, the "hold" system advised about a discount of up to 85% on data, which I queried with the operator, who advised that I would have had to have selected the promotional data selection when dialing *111#.
Not once during the entire operation of converting to data with the operator, or in the system itself are you advised about more data for less by selecting option 3 of data bundle purchases.
Had I know this, I could have received double the data for R10 less!!! The only difference, which was only explained after I queried it, was that the promotional data expires after 30 days, while standard data expires after 60 days.
Vodacom should be offering a face up choice to customers.
More data usable in less time, or less data usable in more time.
