Early direct debit despite saying no

Vodacom is trying to reduce the size of its debtors book at 31 March 2013 (i.e. its year end) and sent the following email on 15/3:

"Please be advised that due to VODACOM'S Financial year end and the Easter Weekend
All payments Cash Debit orders Etc. will be due by the 28th of March 2013
Trust this will be in order."

I replied on 22/3 and the mail was read by Vodacom on 25/3. My reply said:

"No that is not in order for me as my funds will not be in my account on the 28th. Please do not debit my account on 28 March 2013."

Despite this, Vodacom debited my account on 28 /3 and it is now in overdraft. Totally unacceptable!!

I note that Discovery also debits my account on the 1st of each month and it notified me that due to public holidays it would debit my account on 2/4, not several days early as Vodacom has done.
