I am a contract subscriber with Vodacom and i have been to by them.
I was told my warranty for my phone would cover any repair for the 2 year warranty period however this is now being disputed by them.
They now want me to pay nearly R800.00 to repair a battery that was supposedly "Damaged on purpose" by myself and my own negligence. I was actually told i was negligent by a staff member at the Vodacom repairs centre in Canal Walk.
I purchased the phone in 2012 and i was never told about the supplier's warranty.
I was only told this in an email response from them a few days ago. Read below :
"With regards to your response the manufacturer only offer 12 months warranty on accessories (battery, headset, charger, data cable and memory card) and unfortunately you have just stepped into your 2nd year warranty which means that warranty to accessories has come to term. These are fixed terms by the manufacturer and cannot be waived unfortunately."
If it was explained to me a year ago and on the 28/02/2013 when I visited the repairs centre I would have possibly accepted the answer but not like this.
I should not be charged for their lack of service and misinformatio
