I signed up for a Cell C voice contract and after receiving the phone (on 21 Feb), I found that there is no usable Cell C data connection at my residence, even though I should have 3G coverage according to the Cell C website coverage map. For this reason I cancelled my contract (on 26 Feb) within the allowed 7 days after receiving the handset.
After a long wait and many calls, the phone was collected via Cell C's courier (on 8 Apr). After another long wait, I decided to follow up myself and phoned Cell C on 26 March. Cell C informed me that my contract is still active and that the debit order of R894.26 is scheduled for the end of March. I then escalated the matter to (1) cancel the debit order and (2) to confirm whether there is any outstanding amount after the cancellation.
I am frustrated that this process has taken so long; with Cell C's lack of feedback and that I am still being charged when the handset has been returned.
