"degraded" (should read "no") internet service

Since 8h30 am friday, my internet connectivity has been "degraded" (to coin the wording they used). what this results in for me as a customer is webpages that take 20mins or more to load, while using a broadband account. all attempts between 9am & 11am resulted in my call being disconnected, or having to listen to call waiting music till the tape ran out (followed by disconnection). I spent an hour on the phone trying to get a call agent, but to no avail. I found out later that the SEACOM line was down, and that mweb would have normal service up and running 24 hours later, according to their webpage (had to use a cellphone to view it). 24 hours later, they said that they were confident that they would have full service by early afternoon. this has now been changed to "we're confident it will be restored sometime today", though all previous promises shake my confidence in this statement. I don't pay for my service by the hour, and I'm unlikely to be reimbursed for the inconvenience. for "south africa's premier ISP" that claims to have "full redundancy", this kind of service is unacceptable. as a company, I'd think they'd be embarrassed to call themselves a premier brand
