Telkom
The mind boggles

I went to the Telkom shop in Hillcrest KZN to purchase a cordless phone, assuming as the monopoly landline in the Country, they would sell the devices required to access their pathetic service. They only had one model but stated they were getting stock last Friday. To save myself a trip, I thought I would phone - am I living in Cloud Cuckoo Land? - the shop representing the telecommunications only has a fax line. Undeterred, I phoned the the universal number which is for everything except enquiries. Randomly pressing any old selection on the menu, I got through to a young lady who told me that I could order one if I knew the model number, how on earth can I know the model No. if I cannot see the things - a photo on their erratically functioning web site is not good enough (if I can get it to eventually download). No wonder the company is in its present dire straits, as I have never heard anything quite so ludicrous in my life.
