On 09 February 2013 I received a LG Optimus L9 as part of a Cellphone Contract that I got from Cell C Cresta. on 11 February the phone was charging (the second time that I charged my phone since receiving it on the Saturday) and suddenly it just exploded. This resulted in the screen cracking. The phone was also very hot when I took it out from the charger. I then went to Cell C Cresta on 12/02/13 to report this and the phone was booked in as an Out of Box Failure. The OBF booking in form only shows that the phone was booked in on 19/2/13 which makes the 7 day period invalid. However when I received the phone back on 09/03/2013 the shop says it has not been repaired due to physical damage. I requested to see the report from the repair centre but they could not provide me with such a copy. The box was also damaged and thorn after I submitted the box in a good condition. This all leads me to believe that the phone was never sent in for repairs and Cell C is just trying to shift the blame. Mohammed then wanted to book the phone in for repairs but on the booking form he ticked that the phone was out of warranty, while it has a year warranty. I refused to sign this form and took my phone.
