Vodacom
Deceased custome

As per other posts I've seen, my ex husband passed away in January leaving a Vodacom contract standing. I went personally to my local outlet with the equipment and his death certificate. I was told Vodacom did not want the equipment back and that someone would call me to arrange the cancellation. I got a call from a despicable person at the legal collections department who talked to me as if my ex-husband and I were criminals, insensitive doesn't even cover it. I was told that because the contract was under a business name that he would be held liable for the duration of the contract. The fact that the business was a small CC that hadn't traded for years and where he was the sole member didn't seem to matter to them. Was asked to send further docs and given an email reference number. Got no response so I followed up. The usual pillar-to-post runaround ensued and I'm now giving up. That they would want payment from the estate for the last month of usage is right and understandable, but how is it even legal to hold a deceased person liable for future services he will never receive? That is pure extorsion.
