Struggling to get 3G from MTN

I have a contract with MTN which I took last year January. The handset that came with the contract is an iPhone. Now the problem is I have always had problems with 3G, I can only get Edge and this is very slow. I have called MTN call center several times and the suggested solutions they give don't work. Now I am just looking forward for this contract to end because even though they cannot provide from their side, MTN will not allow me to cancel this contract. Or do I have any legal ground to cancel this contract because the services do not meet my expectations and those claimed by the provider. I don't think it is fair that I pay my installment every month but I get poor service. MTN's network cannot cope because sometimes it is even difficult to make or receive calls because of no network coverage. I am in Pretoria Central and I struggle. MTN is just ripping me off. I am tired of calling their call center because there is no solution.
