I signed a contract with Cell C on Feb 21st at the sandton city store
I received a samsung phone that I couldn't keep/use as it could not filter junk emails, so I returned it within 7 days of receiving it requested an iphone that i was told I would receive soon.
In fact I was told that once they approved the return of the handset (OBF) they will do a dealer cancellation and have me signing a new contract for the iphone, which I accepted. Once the OBF was accepted, the new story was that they cannot cancel the contract and I must remain with a samsung contract and they will give me an iphone when it comes.
It has been a month. The iphone has never arrived (they have been expecting it next week/sometime never for the past month).
In the meantime I experienced such terrible service (from call center agent refusing to assist to call center unavailable for 3hrs on monday, or no network coverage for hours, etc) that I decided that I wanted to cancel the contract, only to be told I am liable for the commitment (24months) amount (even though I have no phone). This is against the consumer protection Act cell c says on its website it abides by. This is deception and false advertising
