Around the middle of January I got around to upgrading my phone contract with Vodacom.
I went to the shop in Circle Center in Somerset West. The service there happens at a snails pace without fail. If there is even one other customer, one usually waits 20-30 minutes to be assisted.
But I persevered and upgraded to a slightly more expensive contract, including a new S4-mini phone. I specifically wanted a white one, so I patiently wait a few extra days for delivery. Out of the box the phone was broken, so back it went for repair/replacement. A week or more later and I get back a black phone!? I refused to take it.
Tired of the (by now) 3 week wait to get my new phone, I asked the manager to cancel the upgrade immediately, since I'm now paying for a phone I don't have. His attitude was lack-lustre and only after going back and instructing him in no uncertain terms that I wanted the upgrade cancelled, did he eventually (I'm told) submit the paperwork to cancel the upgrade, and it will take 3 working days.
Vodacom's callcenter was as unhelpful, stating that I must deal with the store!?
Very very unhappy with Vodacom and looking to move away now
