I generally don't check my statement monthly as I receive my balance via MMS on my phone and pay accordingly. I recently looked at my account on the internet as I was doing a cost analysis on the site and noticed on 2 of my invoices for different cell numbers had been charged R9.50 on each for a dual statement. I never authorized this nor do I want it. I contacted the call centre immediately and they suspended this charge and requested that they either reimburse immediately or produce proof that I authorized this. I asked them to provide me with a recorded conversation or paper that I signed authorizing this deduction- which they don't have!! This is criminal to say the least as this is "illegal" and extortion which the CPA is trying to curb! I was assured that my complaint will be escalated and someone will contact me from the accounts department within 24hrs. Going onto 56 hours no one has bothered to contact me regarding my reimbursement for the unauthorised/illegal debits Vodacom has been making for who knows how long. I want my hard earned money back now!
