I recently transferred my phone line from my father's name into my own. Although the process went quite smoothly, I was assured that my first deduction will only be taken from my bank account at the end of January. However, on 4 January, an amount was debited from my account on MTN's behalf. When I phoned 808, the operator said that my account does not reflect a payment of R 500.00. I sent an e-mail to "customer care" to further query the debit order. I only receive automated replies saying that my reference number is contained in the subject line of e-mails sent to me even though no reference number is attached. I sent an e-mail to MTN asking them to attach the reference number in the body of the e-mail as the "attaching the reference number in the subject line" was not a successful manner of relaying a reference number. I only received an automated reply, saying I could not be helped as I "deleted" the reference number from my subject line in my reply to them.
Unfortunately this is a drop in the bucket of my MTN woes.
