I have an MTN corporate contract which allows you a percentage discount. I visited a branch to upgrade my phone and change my contract but was told that even though the phone could be ordered, I would not qualify for the discount and would need to go via the corporate contract channel.
I have e-mailed them and they responded quickly with a list of phone and options available.
I requested the LG G2. A week later, I get a reply saying the phone is "obsolete" and I should select a new one - this person could not give me more details even though the phone has been on the market for less than 6 months. On calling the corporate call centre I was told that they could try drop a mail to people who order it but they would not know if it would be ordered or when it was going to be delivered. I told them that someone in MTN said it was "obsolete" but they could not confirm that but that I should take their advice and select a new phone.
I do not understand why there is a list of phones that can be selected but when requesting them, they are not available. When asking for phones that are available I was told that they needed to check the warehouse. I have not received a response.
