I am stupified at the rate "Whatsapp" uses ones data on the MTN network.
I have been a loyal MTN prepaid client for over 5 years and have always been happy with their customer service, untill this debarcle. On the 21st of January I purchased R80 worth of airtime in total with the purpose of renewing my BIS. Throughout the day I received an error "Supplementary Error: General Error" when dialing *141*2#. At 17:30 i finally get through to their BIS's menu and select the 59.00 recurring Uncapped bundle, which i is followed by the same error. On the 22nd I braved my umpteenth attempt to reactivate my BIS i receive a message stating that I have insufficient funds to acquire set bundle, moreover my balance was R24.99. Infuriated by this discovery I call MTN customer care and spoke to Precoius Kwina who advised that I reactivated my MTN bundle at 17:30 and then deactivated it again. The matter was investigated by their IT team who replied that it was for data usage. R55 spent on data entirely on data? Upon requesting a usge report I was told that I would have to pay for it?! Outrageous. Clients have to pay for transparency in a country rife with corruption. How ghastly.
