I was purchasing my monthly data bundle by dialling *111#. i tried to purchase the promotional 500mb data for R99. it said transaction unsucessful. some mme failed. I repeated the process and it said the same error.
However both transactions took my airtime and one of the data bundle purchases was successful.
I phoned customer care at 7:30am and spoke to Nditsheni Silima. He said they will refund me my airtime and he has to process it through the back office.
At 16:02 I received an sms stating my account has been credited with R99. When i checked my airtime balance I had not been credited with the airtime, in addition they took away my data bundle that I had purchased.
I called customer care back and they said the department is closed for the weekend and I must wait till Monday.
I was not at home this weekend and I needed my airtime and data for my studies.
I am now stuck with no airtime and no data and have to wait till Monday for help!
I struggle to fathom how a cellphone company airtime department is closed on weekends when people use the service 24/7.
I also cannot believe that they sms me saying they refunded my airtime, but they instead took away my data.
