Claiming prescribed debt

Was contacted by Virgin Mobile call centre, quite abrupt personality on the phone claiming that I owe them R7000. The last time I had dealings with Virgin mobile was in 2008/2009. I am not responsible for any outstanding debt and, Iam raising my defence as prescrbied status, because it has been more than 3 years of inactivity on this account.
