Vodacom
Don't think your cell phone is your life line

Your cell phone may be your "life line" but you may need "life line" in dealing with Vodacom. My husband passed away suddenly. A traumatic and stressful time in ones life. My cell phone contract was in my late husbands name... I tried to transfer the contract into my name. I have substantial investments but could not as yet provide a fixed income as the documentation was still being prepared by my husbands employer to provide a pension through his pension fund. I paid the installment each month so that the account did not go into arrears. I decided to contact the legal department to cancel the debit order and inform them of my husbands death. Worse decision ever. Candice said, "I will cancel the debit order but your husband is dead, contract was in his name and in one hour your cell phone too will be cancelled.
How could they be doing this to me. My cell was my life line. My suggestion to speak to a supervisor was also cut short. Rules are rules never mind the 15 years of loyal support to vodacom. How insensitive was that and no matter how much ranting and raving nothing was going to change. Advice treat customers in traumatic situations with care we are your bread and butte
