MTN's dropped calls and bad connectivity

I have an I Phone and an expensive contract with MTN, which is driving me crazy. Virtually every call I make and I kid you not, drops two or more times a call. The clarity of the calls is deplorable and trying to speak on the damned network is the most frustrating part of my day.
I live in Bedfordview, where the service is particularly bad, but the quality is lousy wherever I happen to be. It is not a case of where the service is best, but rather that of where it is least worse.
I have spoken to a number of outlets where I have been told that many complaints are received, which are supposedly reported back to MTN, but nothing seems to be done about improving things.
My monthly bill is enormous and a large chunk of the billing is due to repeated dialling for calls which just fade away or drop altogether. How these cartels are allowed to get away with such shoddy service in a supposedly "regulated" industry is beyond me. The man hours wasted whilst trying to use this service is terrible. Obviously sales are promoted without any concern as to whether the network is coping or not.
