My calls keep dropping or I get crossed lines

I used to have perfect network quality where I live in Cape Town. Over the last few weeks I have noticed that my calls will often drop or cut out for 5 seconds in the middle of a call. It also happens to other people who come to visit me on the vodacom network. This ends up in great frustration and having to make more calls (costs) that necessary. I have resorted to using my landline now when I am in the house as the cell phone is just not reliable enough. I wrote a complaint on the vodacom website and then got sent an email saying they needed my ID no and banking details (ridiculous) in order to consider my complaint. Seems like vodacom dont really care about the quality of their network as its in their interests for calls to drop and for me to make more calls. What they may not consider is that I will probably use their service less as it has become so frustrating!
